The Whitebox team has a diverse background with a strong level of expertise and knowledge in business. Together they work to develop their offering and enable not-for-profit organisations to continue benefiting from their services.

Nick Garnell – Chairman, focused on marketing, sales and content

After a degree in History Nick worked in retail as a graduate trainee for Harrods, an Area Manager for Whitbread and Operations Manager for Oddbins Wine Merchants.

As a Director of Virgin Retail from 1990 he was given the task of introducing video games into the Virgin Megastore chain and of opening a separate estate of Virgin Games specialist stores, the UKs first such chain.

Nick joined Sony Computer Entertainment Ltd, the organisation charged with launching the PlayStation, acting as Business Development Director and subsequently as MD of Psygnosis, the Sony-owned games publisher. During 1994 -1998 Psygnosis grew into a £120M turnover company.

From 1998 as President of Blue Planet Software Nick directed the commercial exploitation of the Tetris IP into all video game markets and the then-emerging mobile market. At this time the IP was also organised and packaged for its subsequent trade sale and purchase by Electronic Arts. Nick is now Chairman of Whitebox.


Fiona Lloyd - Director of Communication, focused on Customer Service

Upon returning to the UK in 2004 after spending 10 years in the USA, Fiona and her two sons Peter and Alastair started a successful eBay related business that helped individuals, businesses and charities sell on eBay.

The business rapidly expanded and with the boys still at school and university Fiona brought in an experienced management team headed up by Tony her husband to further develop the company.

Primarily concentrating on customer service and customer liaison Fiona is focused on ensuring that all organisations we work with receive, large or small, local or national, receive the same level of personal attention and service.


Alasdair Hedley - Commercial Director, focused on customer relationship management

Alasdair’s career has seen him driving commercial growth all over the world – from International real estate in Spain through to technology accessories in Hong Kong.

As Managing Director of computer accessories manufacturer Targus [Asia Pacific] Ltd, Alasdair was responsible for growing the business to a turnover of $10,000,000 and was instrumental in developing valuable strategic alliances with organisations such as IBM, Compaq, Dell, HP, Toshiba etc...

Since returning to the UK in 2005, Alasdair has enjoyed success in the high end residential property environment. As Regional Country House Director for Hamptons International he developed and sold an exclusive property portfolio, featuring some of the most desirable country homes in the UK.

Before joining Whitebox, Alasdair has successfully guided global real estate company Engel & Völkers into the UK & Irish market place and has been responsible for the continued expansion of the company in the region.

Alasdair's primary goal is to develop the business into new international markets.
